Running over the Oregon Trunk is a much better choice for the UP. The UP already has trackage rights over the BNSF, Engineers and Conductors qualified on the line, available crew lodging in Bend, the Dalles, and Klamath Falls, and the top speed on the OT is 49 mph. (Thats a big factor when you are running the ZLCBR and ZLCSE.)
