No, the gay guy was Harvey Milk who was on the board of supes and he and mayor George Moscone were shot by Dan White(?) who got off on the famous twinkies defense. Some months after White was released from prison, he committed suicide. It was the murder of Moscone that put Diane Feinstein into the mayor's position from which she launched her political career as we know it now----------most interesting time in California politics-----
