You have heard correctly. Part of the Governor's 10% across-the-board budget cuts include closing 45 state parks. Railtown is one of those listed for closure. This is supposed to be a temporary closure and none of the artifacts would be disposed of. Many groups are organizing to oppose these closures and Railtown will be competing for funds. Contact you state representatives if you feel strongly about this.
