When big ALCos ruled West Colton:
Southern Pacific C630 3150 is in West Colton, CA on December 29, 1973.
Reportedly (
sources), according to Strapac's great SP Compendium series, SP 3150 was built in April 1966 as SP 7810, SP Class AF630-1, construction number 3439-11. It was downgraded to switcher status, becoming SP 3150, SP Class AS630-1, in June 1973. It was retired in Dec. 1982 and eventually scrapped.
On a foggy November 17, 1974 Southern Pacific C630 3150 and the braking sled pass under the Pepper Ave. overcrossing in West Colton, CA.
