Here's another small ALCo
Southern Pacific 1204, an Alco S6 at Tracy, CA on an unknown date in 1975.
Reportedly (
sources) S6 SP 1204 was built by ALCo in May 1955 as SP 1037, SP Class DS-9, construction number 80927, order number S-3230. It became SP 1204, SP Class AS409-1 in the 1965 renumbering. It was sold to Chrome Crankshaft in 1980. According to Ken Rattenne "The unit became Berry Feed & Seed (in Keyes, CA) then AL Gilbert 1204. The unit was remote controlled and in 2001 or 2002 there was a serious mishap and the unit was sold for scrap in late 2002."
Information, stories, suggestions, comments and/or constructive corrections are appreciated.
