"(Caterpillar) can repair older (locomotives) and refurbish them," he said. "But until they have a Tier 4 solution, they won't be able to sell a new one."
My comment: Does anyone really think EMD/Progress/CAT is just going to quit building locomotives for domestic use and lay off almost everyone on January 1st? Option 1: CAT uses emission credits and keeps building SD70ACe units at Tier 3+. Option 2: New model using the CAT C17-20 engine. If they are going with CAT, where are the pre-duction models?
