hmmm
Dunno what relevance the pollution numbers are.
The San Joaquin Vly numbers are not smog, like Calexico the numbers are from particulates.
Those dirty lousy nogood farmer bastids who sometimes cultivate food crops it's called DUST.
Perhaps the idea is to build over the farmland and make Bakersfield- Tulare a new Megalopolis. I wonder what the attractions for development are- The flaming summers and foggy winters? Views of the bay? the beaches? Movie stars?
Perhaps the author could use my pic of the large sign, posted on a farm wagon at the side of hiway 43 where it diverts around Corcoran
that voice sez
" HSR Advocates
Eat S--t and Die".
And as far as Mr. Wonderful's use of Amtrak from SLOBispo to LA- it doesn't work for a day trip, and is quite inefficient for a one overnight.
I have tried every realistic route between that county and places in LA including the San Fernando Valley including 46/I5, 58/I1 , 101 and permutations of 126 etc etc AND Surfliners.
Train and bus to Yosemite ??? FIne for foreign tourists but for regular travel ya gotta be kidding. Perhaps the bus is very short.
The SJV start is bogus- it will be one of those ' oh it doesn't work but we can't waste the PoS already built, so we Gotta make another PoS to Rosamond..." Ya think if LA [wherever that is] to Rosamond were built first the PoS facet could be hidden, or could they say 'see that was the worst part, now it'll be easy to build the rest'?
The article seems to be a nice collection of non sequiturs tho'
