Track of the Sacramento Southern is inaccessible or missing between Sutterville Road (a bit South of the I-5 Bridge to just past where the ROW crosses Freeport Blvd in the town of Freeport. Beyond this point track is accessible only to light track maintenance equipment for weed control until end-of track at Hood, just prior to the Hood-Franklin Road. This reach of track is under control of CSRM. There is (fading) hope for eventual extension of the excursion line to Hood.
