Back in the mid 1990's we all joked 40K each might bring them close to good shape. They all had their leaks, bad windows and AC problems. Ten years out in the weather with no attention, there may not be much left to work with. Glad the diner and Ranch Car escaped. I worked the last north end train from Arcata to Shively......October 17, 1997, a catered picnick special sponsored by the Shively Bridge Fund. The train was packed and everyone had a great day. The sponsor, the railroad and Timber Heritage all made money. And that was the end........
