Myrick did cover the Lordsburg - Clifton mixed in one of his books. Part of the EP&SW purchase by the SP in 1924 was a twenty-five year contract to purchase coal (from the Dawson mines). That contract ran out in late 1949, and the SP promptly converted all of its remaining coal burners to oil.
