I agree with Espee99. On both counts.
One time some years ago I was part of a crowd in Seattle watching the demolition of a concrete structure by a crane using a swinging "headache ball". All of a sudden the operator jumped out of the crane cab and ran like hell. A few seconds later the steel ball crashed to the ground and rolled free. The crane's cable had broken. Not only did the ball crash to the ground, but the broken cable end was snaking through the air like a big whip.
After seeing that, I was less eager to get a close up view. ;>)
