Can anyone fill me in on what this railroad actually does, and how often? I have been unable to find any concrete information, and their own website was very vague. I thought the railroad through the Gorge was virtually impassable (bridge, tunnel, roadbed problems); if so, how did they manage to get running? What sort of traffic do they carry? I heard they carry sand, but in that area, it would seem like "carrying coals to Newcastle." I've also heard that the railroad is basically some sort of shady, two-bit operation. Thanks for any info.
