Amen; the current politics and demographics of the area guarantee that. Too bad, but that's what happens when people with too much money/credit and no common sense (much less intelligence) move in. I was born and spent part of my childhood there (I was born at the Ft. Ord hospital - the old wooden one, not the new facility that was built in 1971 or so) and have fond memories of the area, but there's no way I'd move back there or anywhere else in California where I've lived (even if I could afford to do so), particularly since the same kind of stupidity that has ruined the Monterey Bay area also has made (or soon will make) a mess of the other places in CA where I've lived (or would care to live).
