With all due respect, but that might become tricky.
In order to build up the sealing patina, CorTen steel has to get wet and then dry out.
So, corners which barely get dry will take a long time to build up that sealing patina. There have been many issues with use of CorTen steel for architectural purposes.
However, regular inspections, and maybe adding protective paint should help.
I presume the consultant had good reasons to suggest the chosen solution (such as that other ones would be even trickier or more expensive).
