I think this is great news. I checked out the NRM last summer and it looks like they have a lot of potential. I wish Stathi the best.

One minor nit-pick about their web post on the NP loco. The following is in the text:

"When the locomotive is complete, the Museum will be the only American institution operating class one steam west of Colorado with regionally-appropriate motive power and rolling stock on its original railroad."

The Niles Canyon Railway is west of Colorado and operates regionally appropriate class one steam engine SP 2472 on it's original railroad with SP passenger cars. I guess they don't count it since the 2472 is owned by the GGRM and isn't in the PLA collection and only get's limited use.

On a side note I wonder how much more the 2472 would operate if it was part of the PLA collection.
