Unfortunatly the cost of making the trail is now greater that reopening the rail line. And there is no money to take care of what they have now. Land owners between Oakesdale and Thornton have been very vocal on not allowing the line to be rebuilt without a fight.
I would support reopening the Colfax to Pullman line so shippers can get access to railroads they don't currently have access to in order to get the ball rolling. Once traffic builds up it would be a better sell to get the Oakesdale to Thornton thing done, currently it's a bit hard to justify.
