Has anyone noticed that the never ending barage of BS on that other train site seems to be painting a piss poor picture of the entire steam railroading fraternity? Where else can one find crotchety old schmucks who have nothing better to do but stop all movements on his, or her, 3 rail (or otherwise) model trainset and post the same old arsenal of insults. Once upon a time, this activity seemed almost enjoyable, however after a couple years looses its luster when the same song and dance is posted and any sliver of 'news' is passed on as gospel. It is disheartening to see how once respected and knowledgable figures have sunk to a level of childlike gossip and whose points have evolved into broken records.

Equally as disgusting as has-beens running their fingers on keyboards are the myriad of self-righteous know-alls who do seemingly nothing but post their great deeds on different websites and videos of themselves talking of their great achievements. But the real hard working, unsung heroes of the industry go unnoticed in the shop and in the field, and perfer to keep it that way, not singing and dancing about their accomplishments. The real miracles don't happen in front of the staged camera or a false reality show.

The most depressing fact about these two types is that both firmly believe that they are actively helping promote and serve this small industry and doing good, rather than making the business look like a bunch of whining naboobs or self serving glory seekers who live for their facces to be associated with the equipment. Makes ya think, don't it?
