SP 4449 Question

I am just curious as to why the SP 4449 the last few times it made a mainline excursion had to back all the way up the wye up near the Vancouver Draw Bridge to face (Northbound) out of Union Station? Why didn't they just back up past to the north leg of the wye at steel bridge heading towards the UP Albina yard and use the north leg of that wye to head nose first into Union Station?
