I tried to get rid of 20 years of railroad annual reports and 22 years of Trains magazines a year or so ago---------no serious takers. Dumped the annual reports in the recycle bin and donated the Trains mags to the Santa Clara (CA) railroad historical group and was told I could take a $1. per issue tax deduction donation for them. If you aren't particularly interested in getting cash, donating to a local railroad group is a good option. If the group is missing issues in their library they are grateful and if they don'[t need the other issues, they sell them at their annual fund raisers to railfans who are looking to beef up their collections. Since Trains and other mags have put everything on disc, getting rid of the hard copies is more of a chore.
