I happened to drive by the cars earlier today -- didn't see any vandalism.

Actually this area is probably better than some other storage areas for equipment in the Portland area, as it is very visble from a heavily travelled road, and not in an area where transients hang out.

On the other hand a former Oregon & Northwestern AS-616 and three passenger cars are sitting in Tigard and I've seen those cars over the last several years slowly vandalized. At this point all the windows are broken out of the passenger cars and most of the car interiors are heavily gutted and vandalized. IMO, these cars (and locomotive) are better off being hauled to Schnitzer Steel (in northwest Portland), cut up into bit size pieces, loaded into dump trucks, hauled to Cascade Steel (in McMinnville), and turned into rebar to be used on the new Interstate or Sellwood Bridge.
