Scanner choice

After more than 30 years I am finally ready to upgrade my scanner. I now use a Realistic Pro-30 (hand held) which has served me well since my days at a newspaper in Norman OK where I listened to police-fire in addition to railroads and aviation.

I retired and moved to Vancouver WA. I no longer need or desire to listen to police-fire but still listen to railroad-aircraft and have developed an interest in marine. The limitation of only 16 channels is finally getting to be a bother. I'm no longer an active foamer and do much of my chasing from the comfort of a car. I have a more-than-adequate magnetic mount Larsen VHF antenna.

Is there a dime's worth of difference between Radio Shack and Uniden? Is there another brand to look at? Is a probammable two-way an option. I am smart enough to know to NEVER hit the transmit key.

Any recommendations on a new hand held scanner would be appreciated.
