RE-"In anticipation of that, coke ovens and a RR spur were even built on the hill above the water fall. Now part of that is under the Snoqualmie Parkway, and within Snoqualmie Ridge."
I recently did a Web search for Snoqualmie Coke ovens and came upon your old thread. I have a copy of a 1923 Map of the area and was suprised to see "Coke Ovens" adjacent to a short rail line running SW out out of downtown Snoqualmie. I ride a mountain bike extensively in the area and with the map as guide I was able to locate what looks like the end of the rail line. I will return in the Summer when conditions have dried out and look for evidence of the old ovens. The area in question is undeveloped and lies a good distance from the Snoqualmie Parkway, and outside of the Snoqualmie Ridge development. I would be happy to share the location with anyone interested in checking it out.
