One interesting thing is that the brakes are on the outside of the wheels. Such a set up is normally only used with low floor streetcars which have no axles. If there is no space between the wheels (for example because of gears), the disk brakes are often integrated in the wheels.
So, having the disk brakes outside of the wheels gives an additional torque on the truck in case of a collision, which means that it will derail way quicker than with brake discs on the axles. And what makes things worse is that it will immediately turn (as it does not have any yaw dampers (unless they are inside)).
