The PB scheme is not an hsr starter line IMHO; just 3 regional commutes connected as an afterthought by a meandering backwoods detour.

Gilroy Area Rapid Transit

Fresno Area Rapid Transit

Palmdale Area Rapid Transit

But most of all an exorbitantly expensive commute line for the Tejon Ranch Co. and its cohorts and camp followers in and around Palmdale.
