I hope the demolition people save those big wood beams. They can easily be re - milled and re - purposed.
I remember when the old Carr - Gottstein (i.e. -- Safeway Stores Alaska ) warehouse on the Tacoma Tideflats was demolished in the late 1990's. The wood salvage company had to hire guards to keep the huge, old - growth cedar floor and ceiling beams from disappearing in the night. One delivery driver I knew was able to stash a 30 foot beam in his trailer, which he later re - milled as the exposed header over the picture window in his mountain cabin.
