The decision to lay me off in 2011 came one week after the WP hospital burned down. The damages and necessary cleanup exceeded one year of my salary. The museum could not support both needs. This of course is factual contradiction to what James Mason stated publicly at Winterail by telling myself, Reininger and a couple of others who's identity I won't toss out there that Rod laid me off in retaliation for comments allegedly made by me and repeated to him by Frank Brehm. The comments were not made, the person who stirred that pot has been proven to have lied. the incident in question, Frank wasn't present and happened at Colfax RR Days 2 weeks after Rod told me I would be laid off.

just another one of James Mason's lies.

James Mason had been pushing hard for my layoff going back a year before the hospital. his beef was I refused to accede to his demands as to how I should perform my job. Contrary to his little wpdream page, There is a business plan in place. We were visited by a group called the Harvard Business Partners. This group is made of of large corporation CEOs. There are 5 of them, they each individually visited the museum on separate occasions without our knowledge. They then decided to assist us in business practice improvements. Most of the improvements were aesthetics.

One of the items they mentioned was branding. I had already started obtaining merchandise for sale carrying the WPRM Logo and name. I even secured bottled water with a museum designed logo on the label.

James Mason had a major problem with that apparently as we argued frequently. The concept of spending money to make money is foreign to him. These arguments usually ended with me reminding him that I worked for Rod and not for him and to take his issue up with Rod. The fact that here we are now is proof that this isn't about "Saving our Society"..it doesn't need saving. This issue is about control. James' issue is solely personal where Rod is concerned.

I served as the FRRS Election Chairman for 4 years. I am qualified to speak here. FRRS Elections rules were in place well in advance of this year's issues as it came up last year as well. There is a likely probability that the challengers Mason and Reininger deliberately missed the deadline to foment this crisis (Meeker followed the rules this year).

Reininger is awfully informed as to the FRRS' apparent problems considering the man has NEVER been to the museum nor has met any of the active volunteers. I was uniquely surprised that he had information regarding a safety issue several years ago that was only discussed in closed FRRS Board session from a report I wrote. Another example of Mr Mason's disregard for the rules.

I currently support 7 of the 9 sitting Board Members and none of the 3 incumbents although honestly, Bill Meeker, if he wasn't hitched to James, I would consider voting for him at some point down the road, but it won't be this election.

One final observation about James Mason's lies. he's got good people believing them. be careful everyone, ask questions from both sides. I am saddened that good people have been taken in by Mason's BS

David Epling.
