I agree Mark, my use of the term "must have" was incorrect as in reality my "must haves" only include food, shelter, and my inhalers......the rest is just nice add-ons. I am at the point in life when acquiring "stuff" is no longer a priority, getting rid of "stuff" is a priority. When I purchase something like STEAM TODAY it is in this context.

I do however believe that Jim Wrinn's excellent Steam Today publication is worth promoting in the hopes that it will in fact make a difference. Some of us listen when folks like Steve Lee and Doyle McCormack give us insights into the real world of railroading. The least we can do is tell others about their wisdom with the hope that they to will listen and act.

And yes, what publication doesn't have some errors creep in. As one who works very hard submitting and editing articles for newsletter publications, receiving positive versus negative feedback is golden and quite rare. As a culture we seem to be quick to make critical remarks and find fault but slow if ever to compliment and point out the positive. This may seem like preaching but it is a reality for those of us who work to publish information and it can and does directly affect our willingness to keep on slugging out the articles. I sent Jim Wrinn a compliment for a fine publication, have you?
