Gold Lines is Great.......

There are some who comment on this site who often appear to actually hate trains, and now we even have those who would shut down trains in the name of God....... (I think really, in the name of nostalgia)?
I practically grew up in the Arcadia depot waiting for Shack and the Local as a teenager, and I am nostalgic for the memories of my misspent youth, too. I even took my 5 year old son on the last Amtrak "Super Chief/El Cap" knockoff from LAUPT to Pasadena. But, I also commuted to work at least 3 days a week for 7 years, over the high bridge, with full trains of folks who loved the Gold Line.
I suppose Santa Fe/BNSF could have just abandoned the 2nd District, and sold it to developers, which would have been the alternative. Instead it was purchased for light rail, reusing most of the existing bridges and right of way, to move 40 thousand folks a day... And, ain't that just awful.....?
I for one, can't wait for the opening all the way out to Citrus College. I hope those trolley whistles wake the dead at Live Oak cemetery for my old fried Carl Ragoza. And, I hope they extend the Gold Line to Claremont, so I can ride the 2nd District, all the way (with a Metrolink connection) to San Berdoo, once again.
But, since I don't hate trains, the Gold line's not really a problem with me.
