Yes, it is what the Wisconsin and Southern calls MX. It is a diamond in the middle of Lake Monona at Madison, WI. Back in 1999, I worked for WSOR on a job that spotted a flatcar with fireworks (and a port-a-potty)for Madison's 4th of July show on the east-west track. It was one of the safer locations to launch that sort of thing. Try google earth under John Nolan Drive in Madison and find where it crosses Lake Monona. The railroad runs right alongside.
