Yesterday Caltrain started running six car trains with their bombardier equipment to alleviate overcrowding. It's not unusual to see some trains with people stuffed up against the doors. The cars are said to add about 170 more spots to each train. Some of the six car trains are using the Metrolink Bombardier cars on the headend. I also saw one six car trainset with six of the Caltrain-painted bombardiers.
Other changes trickling down the line are:
new 1/10 mile milepost markers
And the view of the Caltrain yard and main along 7th St. from the top of Potrero Hill is basically gone thanks to this giant new building
And here's some work being performed over at Bayshore. I don't know what's going on but it looks like soil work.
