Yes, the "transportation layer" that's the default base map shows all signs of using the US DOT GIS coverages. Key point: the DOT rail layer hasn't had many lines cleaned up that were abandoned since the 1970s, such the Lone Pine branch (beyond Searles), McCloud River (east of McCloud), and the like. If you want more up-to-date and simplified rail lines, you could switch the base layer (the icon in the upper right) to HERE Transport. OTOH, it's fun to see the details of some lines that railfans talk about.
