Don't look now, but 57 footers are just around the corner as soon as the gov raises the gross wgt on trucks. I hate 53 footers because they are too heavy and a lot of industries still have docks designed for 40 footers. Many of times I've had to take the scenic route because a customer refused to cut the load. You may legal 46 or 47 thousand in a 53 ft dry van, but 42 to 43 is max for a 53 ft steel can.
