Today a portapotty was delivered to the Civic Center station in San Rafael. It was placed on a pad of crushed rock that is part of a pathway from the nearest crosswalk across Civic Center Drive to the temporary boarding platform constructer next to the future Civic Center Station.
Today or tomorrow morning SMART will run their pilot trainset down to San Rafael and tie it down at the scaffolding which was originally erected for the local Congressman's conference on green energy or something. The county fair will begin at 11 on Wednesday and run through Saturday. Fireworks are included every night. As well as musical stars. The hope is that fairgoers will come and visit the trainset and become familiar with where their sales tax money is going.
This pic shows the portapotty in context with the Civic Center behind on hill, where hopefully many riders will come from on the afternoon commutes to Sonoma
Here's a few of the path to the boarding platform, showing the portapotty adjacent to the path and boarding platform base.
A look to the east or northeast maybe
Here's a look from up the embankment of the underpass, showing the portapotty at right echoing the signal house at left painted in the smart SMART green paint scheme.
This is the gap between SW/H and Shimmick construction jobs. Probably will be completed very soon but it's interesting to wonder why it wasn't completed already.
This is just a closeup of the portapotty showing it against the Civic Center for location
