Doug, there is a compromise. Stay off Railroad Property while railfanning. UDEH or whatever is right, there is no "Technically" about this. While UD used the metaphor about death, there was one railfan back in Tennessee I think a year or 2 ago that went missing while railfanning. They fund his body a little while later under a bridge where he had been thrown after being hit by a train. I think the thread is on Trainorders. I understand that is only one incident, but what about injuries?
Is the concept of railfanning safely and legally that hard?
