The Newspaper industry has been fighting a loosing battle for years as TV, Internet, facebook and more have taken the interest away from reading the newspaper..And circulation has been in a nose dive for years.....The newspaper industry has been reducing the size of the news paper from what use to be 10 columns down to six which makes it look like a weekly reader....News print is coming from different makers due to the present size...At one time newsprint in huge rolls was traveling to almost every newspaper by rail and then hauled by truck to the smaller newspapers...And we are talking hundreds of car loads going in all directions at one time. This also means big reductions in staff in all departments and many newspapers have folded up, combined or bought by another newspaper....The advertising to a certain degree still uses the remaining newspapers, but mail and TV adds have taken their toll....Most all the news papers use to be afternoon delivery, but there was the theory that morning delivery was the correct way to go and this was the beginning of the down fall as newspapers sat on the drive way or on the front porch until late in the day
and people stopped reading the paper every day and watched TV or listened to the radio on the way home from work and stopped home delivery.....
