It's all true and as a business it's their responsibility to uphold their fiduciary relationship
with their stockholders. Big BUT, and it's tough @#$%& and life goes on but if you travel at all
in the midwest you see hundreds of towns that have turned into near ghost towns as the rails
have been pulled. At the time the lines were abandoned there was little if any traffic but with
no rail you get no real growth. Western case in point, look at Cedar City, Utah or Henderson,
Nevada, the fact that the UP still runs there has turned these cities into industrial magnets.
By luck or planning (ha-ha) the railroad has greatly profited from some patience.
