Aww, but Frank, have you ever had the great misfortune to drive over a road that has been freshly oiled? I have. In 1971, I was chasing McCloud 25, heading out on the lumber company haul road out of McCloud as we went east. Well, they oiled the road that Saturday while 25 was out, and when we returned, I headed right up that road, and I literally spashed through those black oil puddles. My little green Datsun 1200 was covered with oil, stunk terribly and whereever I parked the next year, you could see the outline of my car. That car was still dripping that road oil when I sold in two years later. Yuck.
