Sometime over the past month crossing signals and a signal tower have been installed in downtown San Rafael. The place is looking closer and closer to being ready to receive train traffic.

In this photo the 2X whistle sign is from the old NWP days first half of the Reagan administration, for some reason left here for now. There won't be any whistles here, it's a quiet zone I believe.



Already the local youths have added their special flare to the really nice green signal houses. Glad to see they've contributed to the SMART construction effort, beautifying it in their artistically significant way



Here you see an example of the 1985 era cantilevered signals that have been replaced with the much simpler little gates. There were gates that went along with the cantilevered signals of course.
