Is this the origination point to which you jst3751 refer? On google aerial, you can see this facility is connected by private road (crossing under Workman Mill Rd and the UP tracks) to The Puente Hills Material Recovery Facility (PHMRF) Recycle Center run by the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.. It features 6 loading tracks. One other track has some sort of pit visible below it. Anyone know what this might be for?

Recently, I've been working on a job at Prima Descheca landfill in south Orange County. A landfill employee told us that this particular landfill has 100 years until capacity is reached. It has been open more than 20 years. New housing is closing in on all sides of this place. My boss wonders why anyone would buy a house "over the hill from a dump." I have worked at every County of Orange landfill, 2 of which are permanently closed. I've had several trashy days with the heat dirt, dust and odor. At least we get an ocean view sometimes. I can hear Amtrak through San Juan Capistrano too.
