The NV enginehouse was over to the left, essentially just inside the that large, square building -- the track to the building's immediate right is a relatively new addition. The SP's Lombard yard office was located in the lower right foreground between the forklift and where the fence makes the 90 degree bend (the view is slightly telescoped, which skews the perspective a little).

Occasionally SP locomotives found their way into or on the track in front of the NV's building, including at least one B/O SP SD-45, which was actually shoved inside it sometime in the late 1970s. It was left with it's nose poking out because of being so tall compared to the NV locomotives that the top of it's air horns struck the bottom edge of the first truss at the doorway, breaking a chunk of wood out of it (sorry, didn't have my camera with me that day). The holes for the trolley wire hangers were still visible in the trusses, and the rail was 50lb/yd.

In Pic 3, the lead at the end of the NV's transfer yard is visible as the diagonally graded area between track 1 and the Schellville main (to the left of the red diesel). The SP extended the tracks after taking over the yard.
