Actually, the Salt Lake Garfield & Western (SLGW) is still independent and still running. The Savage people picked up the old Bingham and Garfield branches of the DRGW (mostly) and operate it as the Savage, Bingham & Garfield (SBG).

I think most of the U-boats came off the Alberta Railnet (which they renamed Savage Alberta Railway) when CN bought it back.
