Regarding the Amtrak Cascades stop planned for Stanwood, WA.; well once again BNSF has sold WADOT a bill of goods. There is already a 6381' CTC siding @ the proposed platform location. Even the Amtrak AutoTrain would fit between the siding switches !!! But BNSF blackmailed the state into funding a siding extension, in exchange for " allowing " the platforms to be built & the trains to stop there. I'm all for improvements to Amtrak Cascades service, but my tax dollars should not be spent on this sort of corporate welfare crap...
