That gardening going on up there is serious business...and those involved treat it as such.
Twenty years back, I was riding one of the GP-38's on the EUKA and as went slowly motored through Alder Point, the engineer pointed out to a fresh corpse slumped in a vehicle that was parked right next to the track. It hadn't been investigated yet. I've also seen drip irrigation on hillsides that ran to within 10 feet of the rail. Anybody venturing up that way needs to be careful and mind their sense of decorum.
As to the ROW, yes there are sections that have slipped away leaving the rail hanging in space.
No ATV all the way on this line.
