Shipping LNG by rail in Alaska

Alaska RR has been the first to receive permission to haul LNG (liquefied natural gas) by rail in the U.S. I was wondering what the significant difference LNG is from LPG or CNG that requires special handling? Is it likely that we'll see LNG on the rail in the lower 48?

A few years ago we simply looked for loaded dangerous tanks "DAN" for train placement. Now we have TIH, Key shipments and some special switching rules for LPG. How thinks change.

Does anyone remember the restrictions of open top loads being ahead of automobiles? It used to you couldn't have a flat of wheels next to a dangerous tank but that's history now too. I've forgotten all the caboose rules. I suppose a few loads of sheep ahead of the caboose was just an interesting ride on a warm day.
