Jeff, I'm not really on the outside looking in, I'm a Product Segment Specialist for a multi-billion dollar corporation and as such am responsible for my product and market growth in
areas such as Nevada. I know of the group you speak and I also know that this influx of young
professionals is somewhat overstated. I say that because we can't find many to fill jobs in the
Reno/Northern Nevada market. The McCloud suffers from lack of market while Central Nevada suffers
from lack of railroad. We have lobbied Reid's office for support of the Yucca Mountain line simply
from the standpoint of mining opportunities and have found little but deaf ears. The private
dollars available for this project are off to the side wondering what the election would bring
and in worse case a shutdown of much of mining on Federal lands.
