It appears all of the new second main is in service through Camp Pendleton, and the only section left to complete is where the single track underpass is in the middle of the base.

What is the schedule for final two track through the base, and replacement of that bridge? And, is there a location and schedule for the proposed Camp Pendleton Metrolink Station?

I seem to recall that they've had other similar incidents here, in the past. Wouldn't some permanent K rail maybe help prevent that? Wouldn't want it to be something dangerous like that happening in front of an oncoming 90 mph. train?

Some permanent K rail sounds just like something that would be a prudent and legitimate "sealed" corridor investment to prevent that type of incursion ever again. And, then let's do the cost benefit for that from the costs of delays for operators and passengers for just today's incident?

This will inconvenience thousands of Metrolink users today, especially many occasional or new users, using it today for shopping, to visit family, to visit cultural or social functions, and such unreliability is increasingly intolerable, if we expect to offer a service folks will actually use and be able to rely on.
