Nineteen burros were impounded from an area of land in Highgrove near tracks that are part of the Metrolink 91/Perris Valley Line extension. Officials feared a burro-train collision.

“The intent of this operation is to ensure we don’t lose a burro to another serious car accident or incident along the train tracks,” said Robert Miller, director of the Department of Animal Services.
