Thanks for the comments, photos, and leads to WSDOT - a major financier.
It appears that the rebuild between the existing main to the North, the new main to the South, and the station tracks will be major and interesting to watch. Inclined Fourth Avenue South will help our views.
The project will include a completely new set of grade crossing signals; presumably with pedestrian gates. The later are conspicuously missing at the present crossing under the baseball park roof track.
Watch to see if Seattle Police staff do a better job of policing the old crossing until it is closed. Remember the video segment included in Larry's News several days ago?
I've requested better graphics from WSDOT.
The freeway landing onto Fourth Avenue South was the West end of Interstate 90. The East end of Interstate 90 in Boston was a similar landing, at Boston's South Station - probably changed as part of the infamous Big Dig.
