Tom,

If the train was sitting on the A lead it was more than likely a PTPS (Portland Terminal to PSAP Centralia) or PTFI (Portland Terminal to Fife). Both trains usually originate in Lake Yard and are known to use the BNSF between Willbridge and North Portland when heading across the Steel Bridge and through Albina to North Portland is too crowded.
