Mr. Fitzgerald--
Neither locomotive was involved with a "scrapper".. SP2472 was set aside by SP and placed on display at San Mateo where years later, Mr. Mike Manggini(sic) got involved and led a movement to restore the engine to service. Mike was a dedicated enthusiast but years later was forced out unceremoniously by the new GGRM leadership that staged a coup at Hunters Point.

The SP 2475 was a working SP locomotive until the end--it was used on frequent SP excursions along with about eight other locomotives, including 2728, 4460, 4443, 1796, 1744 and others.
